With its snowcapped mountains, misty rainforests, massive glaciers and bounty of wildlife, Alaska’s remote state capital is the perfect place to dive into nature. There are many excursions offered in this unique port. Enjoy a whale watching excursion, pan for gold, become an expert musher or take the cable car for spectacular views.

At the head of Endicott Arm Fjord is the Dawes Glacier offering majestic views of glaciers and waterfalls. Keep your eyes peeled for brown bears on shore, harbor seals in the water, and bald eagles soaring overhead. When your ship sails close to the 600-foot-tall Dawes Glacier, you’ll get magnificent views of active calving (ice chunks shearing away from the glacier) as your ship makes a complete turn for optimum viewing.

Sitka, is known for its Tlingit culture and picturesque remnants of its Russian heritage, including the onion-shaped domes and gold-colored crosses of the Saint Michael's Russian Orthodox Cathedral. Immerse yourself in Sitka’s Russian history by attending a cultural dance performance and seek out your favorite set of carved nesting dolls.

Ketchikan is the Salmon Capital of the World, and you’ll have multiple opportunities to experience why that’s true. Visit historic Creek Street with more than 30 wood-frame houses built on stilts with renovated restaurants, shops, and art galleries.

Victoria, British Columbia’s capital is a charming city with British influence situated on beautiful Vancouver Island. Enjoy the city during the evening hours and soak in its beautiful ambiance and serene ocean views.
