Plan to arrive at the Albuquerque Airport prior to 3:30pm to take a group transfer to the resort.
The Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort is located on 550 acres of the Native American Santa Ana Pueblo between the Sandia Mountains and the Rio Grande River. The Tamayame people are steeped in over 1,000 years of rich culture and history. Just north from Balloon Fiesta Field the location is astounding in its beauty. Get up early and look toward Fiesta Field and you will likely see balloons rising!
Upon arrival at the resort, we will have a traditional Pueblo Greeting. A tribal welcome followed by an orientation of the grounds.
This evening we will dine at the resort with music provided by our very own tribal flute player. We’ll gather around the fire as a Santa Ana Pueblo member tells stories of the history of the Pueblo and its people. (D)

Enjoy a hearty breakfast this morning and take some time to enjoy the resort. Visit the rescue horses at the Stables at Tamaya or take a resort bicycle for a ride down one of the many trails.
This afternoon, the group will experience a private Traditional Pueblo Dance performance. The performances honor the 19 Pueblos of New Mexico representing their pueblos with the traditional dances and songs unique to their culture and traditions.
Tonight, we’ll enjoy an exclusive entrance to the Chasers Club with direct access to seating, food, beverages and Fiesta Field. Tonight’s event is the Special Shape Glowdeo and it is one of the most popular events. The Special Shapes inflate and glow for two hours after sunset followed by a spectacular fireworks show! (B, D)
Today, we’ll visit the oldest state capitol in the United States, “The Royal City of the Holy Faith of Saint Francis,” better known as Santa Fe.
Founded in 1609, the city offers many historic and scenic delights. There will be free time to explore the many wonderful shops, art galleries, and restaurants with a lunch on your own. Take a stroll through the Indian Market where native arts and crafts are available directly from the artists who created them.
Enjoy a special surprise group event this afternoon followed by a free evening in Old Town Albuquerque. (B)
Today, you will learn why Albuquerque is called the Balloon Capitol of the World. Depart for an early morning transfer to the Fiesta Field to witness the Dawn Patrol and have breakfast and hot beverages at the Chasers Club. The Dawn Patrol began at the Balloon Fiesta in 1978, when two California balloonists developed position lighting systems that allowed them to fly at night. Dawn Patrol pilots take off in the dark and fly until it is light enough to see landing sites.
Spend time on the field getting a close-up view of the balloons inflating and the preparation for flight. At dawn when the winds are calmest, watch the mass ascension in a rainbow of colors.
Afterward, we’ll return to the resort to relax. Join the group this afternoon for a Pueblo Oven Bread Buffet. Taste the home cooked bread made in the Pueblo tradition. Later, a local artist will demonstrate their craft in a private group experience – ask questions and see how the ancient craft has been passed down for generations.
This evening, we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner celebrating our Native American ballooning experience. (B, D)
