Visit Soweto and celebrate local community success stories, while learning about South Africa’s liberation. Visit iconic sites such as the Hector Pieterson Memorial, Vilakazi Street, and former homes of Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. Tonight indulge in a memorable dining experience. (B, L, D)

Today visit the Apartheid Museum and gain insight into South Africa’s turbulent history. Enjoy lunch at Sanctuary Mandela. In memory of Mandela’s love for food, this contemporary restaurant serves some of his favorite dishes. Take a flight to Cape Town, check into your hotel with an evening at leisure. Explore Robben Island with Christo Brand, a former prison guard and close associate of Mandela, offering firsthand accounts, providing a deeper understanding of the island’s complex past.
