DAILY ITINERARY:

Upon arrival at the Rome Fiumicino Airport transfer to the hotel.This evening, meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers during a Welcome Reception with wine and heavy hors d'oeuvres while reviewing the upcoming itinerary. (WR)Precise House Mantegna - 2 nights

Your introduction to la dolce vita begins with an orientation drive past Rome's most magnificent sights. Rocky will lead the group to some of his favorite places. Wander through the labyrinth of narrow streets and beautiful squares of Rome's historic center, including Trevi Fountain. Enjoy an included lunch within walking distance of the Spanish Steps. There is free time before you enjoy a pizza making class for dinner. (B, L, D)

Stroll through the medieval city of Siena to see the 13th century marble cathedral and the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, home to the biannual Palio horse race. Enjoy an included lunch with wine tasting at a local agriturismo. Venture to the walled medieval town of San Gimignano,recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its 14 remaining towers. This morning is yours to explore with Rocky leading the way; perhaps walk across the beautiful Ponte Vecchio. Enjoy a cooking demo with a local chef, including lunch and wine. Next head to Pisa to see the leaning tower. Return to Florence for an evening at leisure. (B, L)

Visit the beautiful city of Lucca, birthplace of the composer Giacomo Puccini. Explore the monumental architecture as it transports you back to thirteenth-century Tuscany. There is free time to grab a tasty gelato. Visit a vineyard in the Chianti hills for a wine tasting and lunch. This evening in Florence, enjoy an Arno River cruise with live music. (B, L)

Head to one of Italy's most beautiful landscapes, the Cinque Terre. With a Local Expert, appreciate the views of the picturesque fishing villages by boat (weather permitting). In Monterosso watch a pesto making demonstration with lunch and wine. There will be free time to admire your surroundings or browse the many boutiques. (B, L)

Learn about truffle hunting and enjoy a truffle & wine tasting with lunch. Journey through the rolling hills of Umbria to the birthplace of St. Francis of Assisi. A Local Specialist will reveal the story of this venerated figure on a visit to the Basilica of St. Francis, the final resting place of this famous saint and home to a series of frescoes by Giotto. Explore Rome on your own. Rocky will gather the group for a walking tour. Later,with a Local Specialist enjoy a Cultural Insight into Rome’s vibrant gourmet culture.
